Mamdouh Abdel Alim is an Egyptian actor. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences in 1980. He started his career in childrenâs programs in radio and television in 1969 with director Ebraheem Abdul Galeel who formed four children troupes in dancing, singing, and acting. He was tutored by director Enâaam Muhammad âAly and director Nour al-Demerdaash who presented the child Mamdouh Abdul Aleem in the television series âAl-ganna wal-âazraa i.e. The paradise and the virginâ with actor Kareema Mokhtaar. His real start was in âAsseelaâ also with Kareema Mokhtaar. This lead his way to a number of successful TV series like: âSeyaam Seyaam i.e. Seyaamâs fastingâ, âAkhou al-banaat i.e. The girlsâ brotherâ, âZeinabâ, âAl-Kaahera wal-naass i.e. Cairo and the peopleâ,â Al-hobb wa ashyaa okhra i.e. Love and other thingsâ, âKhalty Safeyya wal-Deir i.e. Aunty Safeyya and the monasteryâ, âHassaad al-âomr i.e. Lifeâs harvestâ, âShaareâ al-Mawardy i.e. Al-Mawardy streetâ and âAbyad x Abyad i.e. All whiteâ. On the silver screen his first role was in âAl-âazraa wal-shaâr al-abyad i.e. The Virgin and the gray hairâ that brought him an acting award. Mamdouh won the best new face award for his role in âKahwat al-Mawardy i.e. Al-Mawardy cafĂŠâ and the first lead role award for âAl-khadema i.e The maidâ. Abdul Aleem did not really attain stardom he deserves on the silver screen although he attained it in television. He is married to television show host Shafky al-Monayyery.
