Philippe JolyĀ (Chinese:Ā ē¼ę£®;Ā pinyin:Ā LĆ”ngsÄn) is a french actor born in Moscow, Russia. Joly regularly plays the villainĀ inĀ Action filmsĀ inĀ Asia, and appeared alongside major actors in the region includingĀ Jackie Chan, Chow Yun Fat, Andy Lau, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and Jean-Claude Van Damme. In his role as Decimus inĀ Jackie Chanās filmĀ Dragon Blade, he shared the screen with American actorsĀ John CusackĀ andĀ Adrien Brody, and French singer/actressĀ Lorie Pester.
Recent projects includeĀ Juno Mak's latest film "Sons of The Neon Night" (Chinese:Ā é¢Øęē«å±±), The White Storm 2 - Drug Lords (Chinese: ę«ęÆ2天å°åƹå³), and the Chinese Sci-fi action film Ultimate Code (Chinese: ē»ę代ē ) in which Joly plays a lead role as the main villain alongside a Chinese cast and fellow french actor and Parkour founder David Belle.
Aside from acting, Joly is a supporter of independent filmmaking, and regularly writes screenplays, and directs short filmsĀ inĀ Hong Kong. He speaks several languages (French,Ā Russian,Ā ItalianĀ andĀ English), is an avid practitioner ofĀ close-up magicĀ andĀ card manipulation, and has trained in variousĀ Martial ArtsĀ since the age of 5.
